Why choose Junction-25 for your special event?

As well as playing great music we appreciate that any function needs careful planning so we will work with you and your chosen venue to ensure that everything is just as you want it to be. One of our musicians has many years experience in event management so you can be assured of a professional approach leaving you free to enjoy your day.

How long do you play for and can you play recorded music between sets?

Typically we contract for two 45 minute sets but the second one usually lasts a bit longer with encores etc. Don’t worry, when we take a break we won’t leave you in a silent room, we will play some suitable background music. If however you prefer something more lively, you are more than welcome to compile a playlist on your own music device and we will play it through our equipment for your guests to dance to. We find that some clients prefer this arrangement to booking a separate disco as it saves costs and provides a safeguard that the ‘right kind of music’ will be played! We cannot however take requests on the night as we do not carry an endless list of tracks!

Does it take ages for you to set up?

If access from the car park is easy, we can be fully set and sound checked in about an hour. If access is limited, due to having to use lifts etc, this can take a little longer. Where time is tight we concentrate on ‘the noisy bit’ first then move on to the lighting rig, which is much less intrusive. We generally make a site visit during the planning
process to ensure that the venue is ready for us at the right time and that access is clear. This also enables us to work out how much PA kit we need to bring to provide an adequate, but not uncomfortable, level of sound (unless you want it LOUD!)

Can we hear you play before we book?

Most of our work is for private parties which makes it a bit tricky! When we get chance we do try to arrange ‘public’ events, which clients are more than welcome to attend, but these can be few and far between. We can send you a ‘demo CD’ of some sample tracks which, we promise, is a true reflection of how we sound. We never use layering or backing tracks, we only record as we play live.

Live bands are expensive, right?

Not necessarily! Junction-25 try to keep prices very affordable by working closely with clients to ensure maximum value for money. Each enquiry we get receives a personalised quotation based on the type of event, how long you want us to play for, distance we need to travel and any additional extras you may want to add. In short, you only pay for what you want. Once a fee is agreed we contract to deliver the event for that price, provided of course you do not change the venue to somewhere in Peru!

Can we choose what you play?

If you want to you can personally select your favourite numbers from our current repertoire. We do reserve the right to arrange the tracks into an order that flows well from one song to another. There may also be some songs that you really do not want. Knowing this is very useful to avoid upsetting anyone. If there is a particular song that you want us to learn especially for your event, we will give it a shot as long as we have plenty of notice and it works with our level of instrumentation. We are all capable of playing most things but some songs just do not suit our style. If it doesn’t sound right we won’t play it but we will incorporate it into any play list of your own music that you provide for us to play through our PA.

Can we join in with the band?

Of course we are delighted if our audience sings along, in fact we positively encourage it! Our public liability insurance however only covers members of the band to be on stage and use our equipment so any participation must be strictly limited to the dancefloor.
